Admission
Admission to the Tryon History Museum is free, though donations are always welcome and help us continue preserving and sharing Tryon's history.
What to Expect During Your Visit
When you step into the museum, you'll find:
Historical Exhibits – Discover Tryon's rich history from its founding families and the arrival of the railroad to the artists, writers, and equestrians who made this town their home. Current exhibits feature Sidney Lanier and the Lanier Library, the 1956 Olympic Equestrian Trials, Carter Brown, and the Blockhouse Steeplechase.
Visitor Information – As Tryon's official Visitor Center, we provide maps, brochures, local recommendations, and insider tips to help you make the most of your time in our charming town.
Friendly Docents – Our knowledgeable volunteer docents are passionate about Tryon's history and happy to answer questions, share stories, and point you toward hidden gems in the area.
Gift Shop – Browse locally inspired gifts, books about Tryon history, and unique souvenirs.
Most visits take 30-45 minutes, though you're welcome to stay as long as you'd like!

Parking: Street parking is available on Maple Street and nearby downtown streets
